Camp
Camp T. Brady Saunders is proud to offer a variety of facilities and attractions that make camp safe and exciting, and provide our Scouts with endless opportunities for advancement. Here’s what to expect at camp!
Dining Hall – Our family-style dining hall features air conditioning and wi-fi access.
Administration – The administration building is available throughout the day for adults to relax on the porch and have a place to use a computer. Leadership classes are taught here along with many of the camp S.T.E.M. merit badges.
“BUD” Reinhart S.T.E.M. Center – Dedicated in 2018, the S.T.E.M. Center is a multi-room building dedicated to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Trading Post – At the center of camp you’ll find our fully stocked Trading Post featuring great outdoor products and tools, camp memorabilia, and a variety of snack foods and treats.
Health Lodge – Our health lodge is operated by an EMT who is also a member of the local community EMS squad.
Waterfront – Our waterfront is situated on Lake Dillon, a lake completely contained in the Heart of Virginia Scout Reservation. It features dedicated boating dock, aquatics swimming area, and the 14-foot tall inflatable iceberg climbing wall.
Fishing Dock – Our dedicated fishing dock is just the right spot to catch a nice bluegill or even a huge bass.
Handicraft Area – Our dedicated Handicraft program area includes a rustic wooden shelter.
Outdoor Skills Area – This dedicated program area is complete with covered instructional tables.
Ecology Building – Housed in our historic Koch Lodge, the ecology building hosts our ecology merit badges. It’s equipped with a dedicated outdoor classroom area.
Wet Willy Waterslide – This is our 30-foot tall, 100-foot long waterslide that launches you right into Lake Dillon.
Gaga Pit – Scouts love playing this Israeli style dodge ball.
Trail Blazer First Year Campers Program Area – This covered pavilion area is dedicated to teaching young Scouts the basics of Scouting and the skills they will need to be successful at camp.
Shower Houses – We have three shower houses equipped with private facilities, flush toilets, and hot showers.
Hill Family Flag Plaza – The centerpiece of camp, this is where we begin every day at camp raising the American Flag.
Retreat Field – This is where we lower the American Flag and have open field games.
Shooting Sports Area – Our shooting sports area consists of our Archery Range, the Rifle Range, and the Shotgun Range. We are also equipped with a 3-D archery range.
C.O.P.E. Course – Our camp is equipped with both a high-ropes course and low-ropes challenge course. The course has a 27-foot climbing wall with three different climbing paths, and repelling.
Quartermaster Building – Located in the center of the campsites, the quartermaster building is open after breakfast for Troops to receive supplies.
Disc Golf Course – A 9-hole disc golf course is located throughout camp, providing many different skill level shots.
